Splendor and colour characterized this year’s jamhuri day celebrations on 12th
December 2013.It was mostly important because Kenya was celebrating her golden

Isinya sub-county was no exception. Everyone put their
best foot forward on this historic day; as they chanted “happy birthday Kenya”.
At the celebration venue, Multipurpose centre, not even the heavy downpour
could deter the big crowd from attending the event. It was a sign of blessing,
as many would put it.
The police had prepared a guard of honour, for the
assistant county commissioner; who was the most prominent guest.
Different
groups had also presentations for entertainment purposes. Leaders from all over
the sub-county were in attendance and were given chances to address the people.
The guard of honour |
A minute of silence was observed for the fallen
legend, Nelson Mandela, after which the guest of honour, the assistant county
commissioner, Mr. Hassan Bulle, delivered the presidential speech. He
afterwards addressed the gathering. With his unmistakable sense of humour, he
passionately encouraged people to work hard and co-exist peacefully and in
harmony.
“Our different ethnic backgrounds make us all unique,
and this is what brings about the developments that you can see in our area”,
he said.
“Kajiado County, for the second year running, is the
richest in the country. This is because it is such a cosmopolitan”, he added.
This festive season has truly been an awesome one for
Kenya. Taking a moment to forget about the daily struggles and just be in the
mood to celebrate this beautiful nation that is Kenya; a sense of unity.
