In regard to a public notice signed on behalf of the sub-county veterinary office by Mr. Lucas Muveu, the district veterinary office
will carry out a baiting exercise on all stray animals which will take a period
of one week starting from the 7th – 10th of April 2014
and in extension of 3 days after the exercise.
This is after a public outcry of increased stray animals
within towns and residential areas. The exercise will cover areas around Isinya
and Kisaju. Residents from within these environs are required to uphold the
outright responsibility by restricting their animals especially dogs from
roaming aimlessly.
The district office will therefore be not be liable to any
damages resulting from this exercise. A proper way to avoid being caught up in
the mix is to keep all your animals under control and dogs especially should be
on chain between 6pm and 6am daily for seven days.
Stray dogs and animals are a menace to most residents as they
end up destroying people’s property and with this exercise in the offing the
action will be a reprieve to everyone who has been a victim of these stray
animals.
